On this day - Lou Gehrig dies of ALS in 1941

Yankees star Lou Gehrig was on top of the world. Then he suddenly saw a decline in his physical abilities. Gehrig was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

On June 2, 1941 the baseball world lost one of it’s biggest talents. The baseball player died at the age of 37.
